Original sound and music direction
The work
I created the original sound and music direction for Tofu Chan — setting the sonic identity the series is built on.
I wanted it bright and positive: the character, translated into audio. The references are almost all Japanese — 90s game music from the Game Boy era, anime, and the particular warmth of a karaoke bar.
The rest of the brief was simpler, and it mattered more. Tofu is an inspirational character. I wanted people to finish a clip feeling lifted, like today is going to be a good day.
